Home Hunt

For the last 2 years Jared and I have been lazily looking for homes.  We will go driving and look for 30 minutes or so and then say we didnt find anything and go home.  With the new baby coming we have decided maybe we should stop paying rent and look for something that fits our family better.  We looked at quite a few online that we might be interested in and Jared went and looked at a couple while I was doing my card club.  Then we found one that was foreclosed and was at an amazing price for tons of square footage.  We decided we would make an appointment to see it as well as one other we were interested in.  I didnt know that the website said water damage, but Jared told me the day we went to go see it.  Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw!! Since the people that lost it had broken some pipes upstairs that completely flooded 2 other floors the mold was overwhelming!! It smelled just like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland.  The kitchen ceiling was caved in, the cabinets were falling apart, all the carpets were destroyed.  Downstairs was even worse, paint was peeling off the walls, the mold was clear up the walls, walls were deteriorating.  The kitchen pantry was completely full of mold, it was beyond my ideas of a project.  Upstairs they had kicked in door frames, smashed out windows, etc.  Not to mention the yard was so small that when you looked out your back window you didnt see your yard, but the neighbors.   We joked with our realtor and called it Moldy Manor.  We figured we could only go up from there and went to see some others later that week. One was alright, but the second was moldy again.  The third home smelled like a kitty hotel and had so much stuff in the carpets and walls that Saylor said it smelled and started sneezing. I cant believe what these people do to the homes.  Like it is the banks fault they don't pay their bills.  I am staying clear of foreclosures from now on, not worth the price cut from what I've seen, and smelled!

house hunting SUCKS! Ir sucks like looking or a job and packing moving. Packing and moving might be the worst of the three.

Anyways, how exciting :) I hope you find something quick.

Oh SICK!!!! Ya I don't know how you would ever get all the mold out of a house like that.
